Called to Go
The weather was beautiful last night. We met all kinds of people from all walks of life. From the transvestite to the homeless man with mental illness, the Lord sent a wide variety of folks. HE placed us on a different route last night, and at one point we were ministering to folks at the liquor store. That’s how HE works. Yet, who stood out the most was a young lady with muscular dystrophy. She does not have much time left here on earth. She probably weighed less than 90 pounds. Her brother has already passed from this horrible disease. She and her boyfriend are living in their Tahoe since their apartment complex was condemned. It has been 2 weeks. It was sad to see someone in that type of shape having to wait for approval for new housing. We were able to pray with her, feed her, encourage her, and give her some basic essentials for daily living. This is what is out there on the streets. This is who the “church” is called to “go” and love. There are so many other stories to share. This goes on every week. The Lord always provides the resources and connections to help people just like this lady. Lord willing we will be able to expedite the housing process for her along with others we met last night. Thankful for all who came out. Thankful for Jesus, who brings hope to the hurting, and rest for the weary! HE carries our burdens amongst the storms of life! Bless you!
