Football Divine Appointment
God showed up tonight in a mighty way. We encountered lots of folks who were hungry physically and spiritually. The most touching part of the evening was meeting a 13 year old kid named Simon. He was walking home from football practice at Hale middle school. He was almost home (he lives 3 miles from the school). He was eating a pear that he found on the way. He was hungry and very thankful for some pizza. Yet, the best part is that He accepted Jesus as his Lord tonight. He was very excited to go home and tell his parents. As we handed him a bible, he says (with a huge smile) “I’m going to start reading this before bed”. So powerful! Next we met Steve who has been homeless on and off for 2 months. He is looking for work, and was discouraged. We gave him some clothes and hygiene supplies, and he made arrangements to stay with a friend tonight. He is a machinist by trade, and I explained that I know a company that may be hiring. It turns out he knows the Vice President of the company whom I know as well! I spoke with him tonight and he wants me to bring him in tommorow!! The boss knows him personally and spoke highly of him! That’s how the Lord works!! Please pray that he gets a job there! We met another man who when we handed him pizzas he says ” I was literally just going to the store to steal food for my family, we are all so hungry”. He says he “was praying to the Lord for food so he would not steal food”. God allowed us to pray with so many people tonight. We met lots of new faces, and look forward to building relationships with them. The Lord orchestrated so many meetings tonight. ThIs is all for HIS glory! HE is faithful to send folks for us to minister to every week. We are so blessed! Big plans for next Thursday, stay tuned for the surprise!!! It will be exciting. Join us next week!! You won’t want to miss it!
