Praying for Harvest
What a great night we had tonight. We actually did not pick up any new folks; instead, we had some of our normal riders with us and so we decided to go to Whataburger and talk. God opened doors for witnessing among the people we had aboard. We were also able to buy a young family’s meal who happened to walk in. The highlight for me personally was watching Tyman share his new found faith in Jesus with another rider named Jesse. We pick up Jesse every week at Taco Bueno, yet have never gotten to know him well. Tyman was saved on the bus a few months ago, and he was excited to give his testimony. It was so awesome to see God working through him. Jesse is definitely searching for truth and has lived a pretty wild life in only 17 years on earth.
Rich Johnson was able to share the Gospel more with another rider named Marshall. Tyman brings Marshall every week on the bus. Marshall has seen his friend be transformed by the Gospel, and he is very close to accepting Jesus as his Savior as well. Salvation happens in God’s perfect timing. It is not about getting someone to say a quick prayer based purely on emotions or feelings; God wants genuineness, a profession from the heart, not just the lips. He wants to be your LORD. Please pray for both Marshall and Jesse to be saved. Pray that they would listen to Jesus’ voice, Who speaks so clearly. Pray that they would desire new life in Christ (2 Cor 5:17).
There was also an older couple seated in the booth behind us who were apparently listening to our conversation this evening. As they got up to leave, the wife leaned in and said to Jesse, “What he is telling you is the truth!” What a blessing! We gave them information about the ministry, and perhaps they will be willing to get involved! We can always use more people to serve on the bus! Just show up!
